"Blood makes the grass grow" was chant that would be repeated during a ritual called 'branding night' at the summer campI went to throughout my childhood "prude ranch." The reference is unrelated to the image besides that there was a kind unrelenting menace to the visual puzzle of all these different textures created visually. In a literal sense this is a forward and backwards dollar sign.
